Succeed or fail?
There is a poster with a picture of Michael Jordan that bears this quote:
I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career.
I’ve lost almost 300 games.
Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.
I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
– Michael Jordan
HOORAY! Like the rest of us who keep trying, we learn, sometimes we make the basket (or the art that works) but sometimes we don’t. And even when we don’t succeed, we can learn and do better next time……

Sounds like baseball players who are doing well if they get on base 30% of the time. I don’t know the percentages for soccer players trys/goals but I’ll bet that isn’t high either!
And how many quilts are made that never win ribbons in shows — even if they are shown more than once?
I guess our attempts have to count for something in the grand scheme of things if only our own sense of self worth.

A good reminder. Sometimes people who sew and people who cook expect success always. Not realistic.
