New Widget
OK folks…I’m trying to decide. Do I keep the current/past flags display and counter, or get the “NeoPod” instead. You can click on it to see the flags/nation/visitor count, see the dots on a map and other stuff, but the NeoPod is dark, and on the flags page keeps moving (which I find a bit distracting).
Tell me which one I should keep… I need to decide by Friday, when I need to renew one or the other for the coming year…your choices are:
Keep the old, LONG display
Go for the NeoPod which moves sometimes…..
Thanks!

Whichever one makes YOU happy! I’d bet many of us use readers these days, we rarely see the widgets.
Have a GREAT week Sarah.

Yup, I’m with Fitzy. I came over from bloglines to see what the you were talking about – the visitors thing is so long, unless your post was very long probably most people won’t even see it!

I am now using Google reader and don’t see headers or sidebars or any of that stuff unless I click through to the blog. These readers are making me rethink my own blog layout. It definitely changes what you see. But it sure makes blog-reading faster and easier!

Personally, I wouldn’t do either. There are so many blogs to read with really good information who has time to look at sidebars. I try to limit mine. I have been using google reader fo some time and unless I want to comment, I don’t even hop over to most blogs any more.

I didn’t renew my counter as I thought there were probably more sensible things to spend that money on. I ended up reverting to my free Site Meter (on the bottom of my blog) and found lots of really cool information in it. Then I just rejoined Neocounter and am using the free version but I think I am probably the only one who looks at it – is that just vanity? Probably.

Good question. I had the 30 version and liked the static flags instead of the flags bouncing around. There are good points made above. I too use Google reader and often don’t come to the blogs to see the whole kit and kabooble. I like it on mine so I can see how many people have come by and how many countries. I get so few comments though it makes me wonder if people are too busy. I did look at yours when I’ve been here before but it was so long I left before it was finished. I guess it comes down to how much you like it, why you have it and does it make YOU smile?

SB:
That’s the one widget that I am letting go … I thought about trying the Pod as well – but this seems like something that is more for me rather than for anyone who is reading the blog – so I have to agree with the first comment – get the one YOU like the best !

It sounds like you’ve already made up your mind:
Out with the OLD, In with the NEW!!!

Up to you Sarah… I use a program that runs in the background and then I can check it whenever I feel like seeing who is looking at the blog. I just need to figure out the comments section on my blog… It has not worked correctly in a long time, so I need to fix it. Yippee… I get to be a geek. Have fun. I love to read your blog!

I don’t “get” the NeoPod. The list is long, but it doesn’t confuse me! 🙂

I don’t even know what you are talking about with readers and widgets! I think I’ll stay uninformed. I already am overloaded with learning! ha
