Truth:  I never really believed in stilettos until using this one.  I figured a bamboo skewer would work and would cause less damage if I hit it with the machine.  Then I received one of these in the teacher goodie bag while teaching at Houston one year (oh those were the days!).  It sat unused a coiuple years until I attended a Schoolhouse session at Quilt Market (the to-the-trade-only Trade Show that preceeds quilt festival) with Annie and learned

the tip is sanded to better grip the fabric

the grip is ergonomic AND

has flat sides so it doesn't roll off the table AND

has a flat end to "finger press" seams

OMG!  It works SO WELL... when piecing and even when working on fused collages while quilting I use it to tame pesky bits.  LOVE!
