Journals 2004, May

Maggie Hunt, from gorgeous SC, and on the QuiltArt list sent me a scrap of her shibori. It reminded me instantly of the tangle of branches in the photo, so I used it for the background, piecing in the main trunk and branches in black. Once done, the journal was very blah, so I added some Neopaque metallic paints to the quilted leaves, which considerably improved it! 8 1/2 x 11 inches. Sold; in a private collection.
