Umbelliferous - Queen Anne's Lace No. 1

A friend has teased me that I am working on a series about weeds.  I prefer to think of them as stunningly beautiful wildflowers.  I simply love the architecture of Queen Anne's Lace, which is in the category of Umbelliferous flowers...those who share a structure with the umbrella. This is a wholecloth quilt, with background dyed be me.  I creates a screen for printing based on photos I took of the flower, which I used to print on the blue, then enhances with a ridiculous amount of quilting and paint.

Materials:  artist-dyed cotton, textile paint, commercial cottons, Mistyfuse, thread, wool blend batting.

Size:  40 x 40 inches.
